Hole left by dynamite explosion
26 inmates of the Mata Grande Penitentiary, in Rondonópolis (219 km from Cuiabá), fled during the dawn of this Friday (10).
According to information from the State Department of Justice and Human Rights (Sejudh) so far five fugitives have already been captured.
Two men who supported the escape were also arrested. Five guns were seized with them – four pistols and a 12-gauge spar. Twelve arrests occurred this morning.
The flight happened around 1:30 p.m. in the morning. The prisoners saw the railing of one of the radius 3 cells and the fence that divides the place near the wall.
After that, they blew up part of the right wall of the jail with artifacts stuck on a bicycle, which was propped against the wall and fired from a distance.
Moments before the escape, prison officials saw two people hiding in the woods next to the penitentiary, and soon after they heard the crash. Then the wall and the agents were shot.
The Official Expertise and Technical Identification (Politec) has already been activated. The security forces are trying to recapture the fugitives. The Civil Police will conduct investigations into the escape.

Of the five detainees who have already been recaptured, four were arrested together after carrying out a robbery in the Residencial Lajeadinho neighborhood.
The four had stolen a Gol vehicle and fled. The police began the search and found them all inside the car, along with a victim who had been taken hostage.
They tried to escape, but the Military Police managed to approach them. With them were found two pistols used in the robbery.
The recapture happened at 4 o’clock in the morning, two and a half hours after the escape. One of the fugitives had a clown tattoo, symbol of thugs who kill police officers.
The fifth fugitive was found in an area of small farms in the city, around 03h30. He was in the company of two other people.
After they had seen the cops, the three of them began to run, jumping fences into a thicket. Two managed to escape and only one was recaptured.
